I love my little NAA 22 mag, but the rubber grips weren't classy enough for the rest of the gun, and we're boring to look at.

So I did something about it yesterday. Zebrawood scales have much more character, and a I think a revolver just looks right with wood grips. I can always change back if I need to, but I don't think it'll happen.

Hint: I already removed the lock flag and re lubricated the action, and put 50 rounds through it as well as about 500 dry fires. She's slicking up nicely.

Nice gun, nice grips, and nice holster!  Other than the fact that my choice would be 4 5/8" .357 Magnum, all the rest is in line with my thoughts for my next gun.

Thank you,

I made them out of a zebrawood blank I had laying around. Unfortunately they moved around a bit on me, but I have a plan to fix that. I just need to go mess with the sander for another hour and they should be perfect.

I haven't had time to mess with it.

My 686. Got it about 2 weeks ago and immediately pulled the lock flag. Just got my Hogue grips installed as well as wolf springs. The springs made a night and day difference-the DA pull is really nice and you can stage the trigger really well. Highly recommended.

This thing carries incredibly well in my desantis OWB. I have carried this more in a week than I ever carried my 1911.

Apology for the delay in responding. I use tennis racket grip tape then use Gorilla Snot for tackiness. Gorilla Snot

The reason is to fill out the grip which helps spread the recoil a little more evenly in my hand. Plus with the Gorilla Snot the grip tends to stay well anchored.

I typically shoot a box of 38's and 5 or 10 rounds of .357 when I practice which is about once a week.

I have yet to have one of my 340's give me trouble except early on when the extractor rod backed out on my first one. That is now something I inspect regularly.

Well the 640 is definitely an awesome little snub revolver, but I just had to see what all the fuss was about with the 340pd.  After reading many reviews I was quite intimidated by what people were saying about firing "full house" .357 magnum through this 11oz package.  I was very relieved when I found the recoil to be far more tame than I had initially anticipated.  I would say the recoil was reminiscent of a .44 magnum buffalo bore +p (essentially bear loads) with less wallop and a bit snappier.  However I could see how shooting 5+ continuous cylinders of .357 could become a bit uncomfortable.  That being said, 3 cylinders was not too bad.  I anticipate I'll be practicing with 38's mostly capped off with some .357 at the end of range sessions.

Currently I am awaiting delivery on a Barami Hip Grip, Tyler T Grip, as well as a Hogue Handall JR Grip Sleeve to wrap it all up.  Until then I'll have to make due with the "old fashioned" rubber band grip mod.

When IWB carrying the 640 the weight was not too noticeable but while wearing the 340pd the gun almost seems as though it isnt even there.  I believe I've found my new EDC.

Besides my brother seems to have taken quite a liking to my 640.  I may have to give him an early birthday present.
