I was at my local gun store this weekend and saw a new .357 for $269. I eyed it for a bit, but was in a hurry so I forgot what make it was. I believe it was a Rossi R97104. Any opinions, I'm in need of a handgun.

Thx,

Never tried a Rossi, but I like the Tauri. It's probably a decent revolver, if not outstanding. The lifetime warranty is a big plus...

259 FOR A FACTORY FRESH 357 REVOLVER IS WORTH THAT.

I haven't had my new Rossi .38 to the range yet, but for $250 it's very nicely made, with a trick-looking vented rib (Model R85104).  Decent double action trigger, very good SA.  Already have a couple of Smith's, just wanted to try a "value-priced" .38 (since I rarely shoot .357's). And I think Taurus, the manufacturer, makes a decent product for the money.  Nothing wrong with my Springfield 1911 from Brazil.

Readmenace buy it.  I have a 2.5" 971 snubbie for several years now.  Functions well, accuracy is good as long as I do my part, and not bad wheelgun for the price.

I have a Rossi .44 special with a 4 inch barrel.  I believe it is a model 725.  Stainless steel.  Never had a problem wiht it and I have owned it for 10 years.  Some of the purists will come along and tell you nothing less than S&W.
YMMV
