A couple of mine. 28-2 http://usera.imagecave.com/denfoote/Mod28-2.jpg 65-6LS http://usera.imagecave.com/denfoote/TheLady.jpg |
Is the prefix on your 28-2 an "S" or an "N" on the serial number? Reason I ask, that bluing looks a bit more polished and has a bit more sheen to it than most 28s that I see. 28s have some of the most varied bluing of any guns I have seen, like an idiot I didn't buy an older possibly premodel number 28 years ago that had a bluing that almost matches spot on to my 38/44 Outdoorsman. Such variation in the 28s it is rediculous. |
Wish mine came with original magnas like that rather than the damn rubber hogues it had. Though for the price I won't complain much. Mine was mint too until I fired some hot blue dot loads through it, now it's got a bit of flame cutting on the top strap. I just HAD to go for some old world loadings. |

Heres some custom 686 .357 bliss for you wheel gun nuts.I picked this hog leg up used a couple of years ago for $450.It has a 6" pinned, huge single ported, shrouded, barrel w/ removable underlug. It has Cylinder & Slide internals.I'm not real sure who built it but the action is smooth as silk & the trigger pull in single action mode is very light & crisp!!!!!!!http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j151/charliedontsurf_photos/Z1GZAGMANSFRANKENSTEINAR15063.jpg |

I love S&W top Revolver model 60, model 37 airweight, model 10 bull barrel, last M&P 15. The 15 was my grandfather's. It was his service revolver when he was on the Dallas police Dept. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/2808/wholecollection625067bh.jpg |
What's the prefix on the serial number? S or N? If it is an S it's an older S&W, probably late 60s vintage. I'm looking for a 6 1/2 inch blued 27-2 that is just like that to match my 38/44 Outdoorsman(want the non-ramped target front sight). |
The prefix is a N. Found out from the S&W forum it is 76-77 vintage. |
Nice! Now THAT'S a gun! Got one just like it, 'cept your's is a little nicer! |
Thanks bud. It has a little blue loss on the cylinder but I am going to Gunsmith school this fall, so I will learn how to re-blue it there.
|
That is one hell of a revolver. |
Maybe this could get a tack Mods?
) that I need reblued and a camo/lamo checkered Hogue wood grip added before I can proudly post a picture!
