Anyone order one?  How long did it take?

I had a customer order one at the shop I worked at, order placed in 2012, I think it took 2 years. Colt is not in good shape right now and I got the impression that the custom shop is understaffed and overwhelmed.

2+ years?!?! Is that why available ones are selling for MSRP or higher on Gunbroker??

It's 2 years for a custom shop gun; 3+ for off the rack. I'm a colt dealer and have a couple for,we students working there now. He said they are backed up because there are only need a couple guys in the factory that even know how to build them.

Call Colt. They will tell you, at least two years. But if you look around, you will see guys selling
custom SAA's all the time. At a premium.

I know it's a Colt and all but no way would I wait 2+ years for one. You want the best single action made, get a Freedom Arms and call it a day. Far better than anything Colt's ever made and much more available too.

Lots of good SAA shooters on the market right now.  Colt is only for collecting and trading.  They usually have horrid triggers.

not sure about that.. but each their own. Freedom Single actions have the esthetics attributes of a blackhawk. Nah.. scratch that.. blackhawk is less bulky / boxy. I know its about how they shoot.. but to my eyes thats one ugly revolver.

Ill throw out another option other than colt if you looking for a replica and not wanting to spend the $$ / time -

Great trigger.. great accuacy out of my Cimmaron Charcoal Blue.. and its a good looker

In the eyes of the beholder and all that but I really don't see the bulk or boxiness of a model 97 which is the closest size wise to a Colt.......and as for trigger, action, accuracy and durability there's no other single action made that holds a candle to Freedom Arms, period.

Very valid point (I have a Uberti and a Smokewagon on the way) but just like a PTR91, PJK-9HP, Rossi 92 they're just copies... Freakin good copies and  some arguably better than the originals in some respects but copies none the less. One day when I can justify $2k for it I'm ordering a NIB Hartford made model P.

Wow. 2 years wait time? That's crazy. Colt is just so mismanaged it's astounding. They should be a very profitable company.

I totally agree, there is no reason Colt couldn't become the best SAA manufacturer. But they can't.

I got a 7-1/2" SAA and it was about 1-1/2 years from when it was paid for to when it came in, last summer.
