I'm a HUGE dw revolver fan!!!! A couple of them that I like to plink with.

" />

Use these for beating and banging on anything and everything, the heavy bbl shrouds and muzzle breaks &  custom 1 in 10 bbl's allow these pistols to shoot their favorite load (357/158gr cast hp & 8.0gr of power pistol) like they are 38spl target loads.

Did I mention I'm a Huge dw fan???? A simple bbl/shroud swap allows the owner to have a completely different setup with the same revolver. Some 4", 6" & 8" setups for the dw's.

" />

I know a little bit about revolvers, custom or customizing dw's. My 25+ year old ppc revolver gets a steady diet of cast 148gr hbwc's from a custom mold.

" />

After taking a good hard look at the new 715's and the $$$ they wanted for them I passed. If it was the 10" bbl's 22 silhouette model, I'd have 2 of them right now. One to shoot and 1 to pet and call my precious, did I mention, I'm a huge dw fan???
So at the end of the day I sold as  nib model 15 with the sought after 8" vented ribbed bbl shroud.

" />

And put the $$$$ I got from it towards a nib s&w competitor.

" />

Bought the s&w for the same $$$$ they wanted for the 715. I just felt that the custom shop 686 competitor was a better pistol for the same $$$$. So far (limited testing) the s&w has showed it isn't too picky about it's diet. Some 6-shot reload tests @ only 50ft. Figured I'd start @ 50ft to find what makes bugholes in paper and then stretch the legs a little (25yds/50yds).

" />

There's allot of used dw's out there in excellent condition. For the $$$$ they want for a new 715 you could easily buy n older dw and several different bbl/shroud combo's and call it even.

Just something to think about.

I too am lucky to have one of the original Monson 715s, complete with both 4" & 6" barrels.

this is exactly what i did, i travel around my state a for my job quite often, so when ever i would finish work for the day before i would go home I would stop by the city/towns lgs scopeing for a good older dan and look up if there was a gun show on the way home that I could do a walk through off.

after a few months ( I was about to through in the towel) i found one for around $400 in great condition.

look hard and you wont be sorry.
