My father-in-law asked me to be on the lookout for a ported .357.  He had a factory-compensated Rossi 971 that he lost when his home burned in Feb. 2004. I found  a stainless Taurus 627 .357 Magnum at a pawn shop.  It has a 4" barrel, a 7-shot cylinder, rubber grips, adjustable sights and it is ported from the factory.  It looks like it has not been fired much.  The frame size is comparable to a S&W K-frame.  The action is much smoother than the Rossi was.  They are asking $390.  Is this a decent price?  I haven't asked what they would take for it yet.  What would a new one typically cost?    Any input would be appreciated.

I'd aim about $100 lower. The price of a new one is about $400.  Resale on Taurus revolvers isn't too good. Are you sure it isn't a titanium tracker ? The price would be more in line then.

Be sure to check it out thouroughly before you buy. Taurus quality seems to run hot and cold.

It is a Tracker; but, not titanium.  My father-in-law said to offer $300.  I haven't made it back to the shop yet as my son has been ill this week.
I found a place that I can get a NEW one for $399.  If they want to sell the used one, the price must be much lower.

I sold my 627 for $275 with holster, 121 rounds of ammo and 2 speed loaders.  It wasnt in great shape but shot great.

I got a 5.7 but still miss having the revolver around.  I carried it often last year and as a 20 year old people always seemed surprised that I had a revolver and not an autoloader
