Ok, so I was given a few gifts today as a friend of the
family didn’t want them in their home any more.
I’m trying to find out some information about one in particular, and the
interweb hasn’t been all that helpful.

I had to take these with my phone cam, so they aren’t the
best.

Markings read:  "Thalson
Company San Francisco Cal. 22 l.r.”

This isn’t a starter pistol.  I’ve read a little about Thalson and its
early attempts to get a contract with Walther, but nothing really about the
pistol

Any information is appreciated!

Might not be a starter pistol but sure looks to be about the same quality

Can you spot zinc alloy with a magnet?

Interesting but not real exciting

Have you tried shooting it? Guess I would limit myself to standard velocity just because

No box, so I'm only going on whats engraved on the barrel.  Most hits do come back to starter pistols, but my experience with these are the pistol has a solid barrel.  This one, from what I can see apparently has a rifled barrel.  I can't seem to figure out the mechanism for removing the cylinder so I'm not completely sure.

The friend who gave it to me knows nothing about it.  It was given to them by their father who has passed away.  In the case were several .22 shorts and .22 lr's.

ETA:  Found the right screw and removed the cylinder.  Appears the outer barrel has an inner sleeve and is not plugged.

Totally looks like a Rohm RG 12. We have one in the shop, save it's chromed with white grips.

My interweb skills are weak, but there was some reference to the company being based out of Germany so I wonder if there's a connection...

Thalson was an importer in San Francisco in the 1950s. The revolver that you is made in Germany and most likely made by Röhm.
