New to this site.  Buddy sent me here.  Does anybody know where or if I can by 700 grain rounds for my 500?   I do not re-load and want to buy ready to decimate rounds.

I have never even heard of 700grn bullets??? I don't even think they make anything that heavy for that caliber. But this shit will tear something up: http://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=98

Thanks.  I thought that seemed kinda big.  Saw something on the net that you could buy the bullets and hand load them?  I do have some 500 grain in the mail but the ballistics are not as good as the ones you suggest.  I shall order some right now.  Again, thanks.

Of course you can get 700-grain loads.  Ballistic Supply sells them - $2 a round if you buy a box of 50, which is a pretty good price

Here's one of my favorite videos of a guy shooting the 500 with a 700-grain bullet:

Buffalo Bore is good stuff, but there are hotter loads to be had.

Doubletap makes some stout rounds for the 500.  350 grains at 2000 FPS (over 3000 ft-lbs, compared to the 2500 ft-lbs of the Buffalo Bore), and 500 grains at 1500 fps.  I like the 350-grain loads because of the muzzle flash.  Here's a pic of a buddy shooting mine:

WOW, I stand corrected! All hail the 700grn!

And that doubletap load is more of a flame throw than anything!!!

I'm even more scared to fire my 4".500 now even though I wouldn't shot 700 grains,I think the manual says not to exceed 300 to 400 grains through the 4" barrel. It seemed to kick alot and that guy has some big forearms.LOL

I have some 500 grain bullets if you are interested.  Not loaded rounds.  Get a Lee Loader it is easy to reload for.

Call T's Guns and Ammo in Texas City, Texas and tell him what you want.  He manufactures ammunition at his shop and will ship.

Thanks you!  Ordering a box of 50 in 700 grain and a box of 50 in 600 grain.  Can't wait to get them and see what they do.
