This is one of the Silhouette models, so 12 " inch barrel and wrist-brace. I guess the sights are of an earlier type, as the front blade is just that, not the newer (optical fibre?) type. I have problems finding much info about them as the revolvers are not stamped with a model, and we just call them "LBRs", long-barrelled-revolvers. This is a .44 Magnum; I assume that is a Model 66, maybe they were designated something different?
Anyway, the sights are not really precise enough for me, especially the front blade. It obscures too much of the scoring areas at 25m. I'd like to replace both sights with something more precision orientated. It won't need anything geared towards low-light condition or defensive use, just fine and with good definition against a black background. I heard these were maybe a S&W knock-off (to some degree)? What sort of range of sights are available? Thanks. |
