I picked up myLCP todat,serial #374-00xxx.It appears the channel for the extractor was cut too large and it made a small hole on the bottom of the slide.

are you talking about this?

if so that is supposed to be there, it is a round indicator - you just look at it and you can see the brass of the round in the chamber.

No,it's on the bottom of the slide directly under where the extractor is.It's a small hole that's definitely not supposed to be there.
