Compatriots,
this has probably been asked a bunch of times, but; My brother just purchased a new ruger sr9, looks great, but heaviest trigger pull I have ever measured from a stock handgun from ruger. over 15lbs!!! Need some advice on how to correct this heavy trigger pull. do I need call ruger support? or look for a spring job? or pay a gunsmith to fix a new gun? thanks wired1979 |

What did you use the measure the trigger pull?

| I've had the same problem and was told to make sure that I didn't have to much oil in or around the trigger area. This definitely helped but still not great. Interested to see what others say also. Has anyone had problems with the mag release being very hard to work. |

I have an SR9 and love the gun but hated the trigger. I ordered a connector from Ghost inc and fixed the issue. I got the 5 lbs tactical and am very happy with it. This one will also removes over travel.
While I was at it I also removed the magazine disconnect, takes 3 minutes and can be reinstalled just as fast. http://www.ghostinc.com/category/tactical_for_ruger/ 40.00 bucks, good service and fast shipping. Good links above also check out the Ruger forums for more information. |

Sent the gun into ruger, they did some repairs, sent it back fairly quickly. Trigger is better, smoother, but still heavy trigger pull. over 12 lbs.... owell, chalk that up to a learning experience. wired1979 At least they lowered the trigger pull....somewhat.
Are you going to do any of the mods/fixes that we posted? |
