Hey guys, im in the market to find and buy one of these, but I don't know if the LCR is worth the extra cash. My second choice is just getting an Ultralite which run around $300. Not bad at all considering the LCR is $450+ :(
What are your thoughts on a good carry wheel gun? Price, quality, features, weight... which matters most |

I wish the shops around here had a LCR for me to try the trigger on. I have read that they are very smooth, which would definitely increase accuracy which stubbys need. So Skywarp, would you say the LCR is worth the extra $150-$200? Thanks for your input. Hard to say, man. It's bulkier than either the Taurus or the Smith & Wesson, but comparable in weight (or maybe even a touch lighter). Trigger is better (about half the weight I guess) but these aren't target guns. I'd still pick a Smith & Wesson 442 or 642 Airweight just because of their record, at around the same price or less than the Ruger. Not to mention available... |
| I have carried the 642 for quite some time, and have been carrying the LCR for a month now. IMO the LCR is more enjoyable to shoot due mainly to less perceived recoil, a better trigger and lighter weight for pocket carry. The LCR is also more accurate, perhaps due to the trigger. |

I just returned from my local funstore and fondled the LCR and a 642 side by side. (Do not know about a Taurus)
IMO the LCR is hands down the clear winner between the two. I have yet to shoot either one but the Ruger was way better in the trigger and ergos. Lighter too. The Hogue grip should make firing the LCR a breeze compared to the Smitty. I'm not even a Ruger fan and I like it a lot. |

I went with the Ruger LCR, and I am well pleased. It handles recoil better than anything any where near its weight that I have found. The Crimson Trace laser grips are a nice addition for my presbyopic vision, too.
Every one who has fired it has been impressed with how smooth its trigger was. I am well pleased. |

Picked my my new LCR at Sportsmen's Outpost in Wolcott, CT $400.
Haven't shot it yet. Have noticed there is a rattling part inside the trigger mechanism. Have dry fired the gun and noticed that as the trigger is held back - the rattle stops. Is this normal? or do I have a send back? |

Mine has the same little rattle in it. most revolvers will have that. it's the transfer bar. it is not in place unless the trigger is pulled. if it's not in place, the hammer can't send the firing pin into the primer. (i.e. it makes it safe if you drop it on the hammer). yeah the lcr doesn't have an exposed hammer, but inertia and all that... |

I have an interest in one of the LCRs. I went to the local Gun Show yesterday just to look around. I saw a few of these and prices were all over the place. I felt like a bad ep. of Price is Right. Prices were $425, $525, $595, and $725. Now the $725 one inc CT grips. I wouldn't mind having one, but not for a premium over a SW 442. BTW the trigger felt pretty good for a little revolver and the grip fit my hands well.

I just bought one the other day and I only have 20 rds. through it but I like it. I have owned both Colt and S&W snub-nosed revolvers that while they were of high quality really didn't get me enthused so I sold them. Unless something drastic occurs, I will keep this one and shoot it much more than the others were shot. It has a very good trigger for an out-of-the-box revolver. It is my BUG and replaces an LCP that I in traded in on it. |
| From all the advertising photos of the LCR I thought MAN this thing is ugly. But yesterday my dealer got several in and I had a chance to handle one, after 5 minutes I bought it. During hot weather I carry a S&W AirLiteTi due to it's light weight. The LCR is only slightly heavier and just feels better and the trigger is wonderful. I can't wait to get out to the range with it. |
