First off I don't know anything about 1911s, My father has a ruger 1911 that he got for xmas last year. When he got it home, and was looking at it found out that the "sear spring" was broke. he got that repaired and it has sat in safe until 4 days ago when he went out to shoot it. now the 1911 will fire, eject spent round, drive new round in, slide closes pull trigger...nothing. It seems like the trigger is not resetting. I have no idea what it could be. I am using Winchester 230gr fmj. |

I had an issue with mine not going completely into battery after adjusting the Sear Spring. I had to shoot about 150 rounds through it but it seems to have cleared up pretty well. Havent had any FTFs yet |

Call Ruger and send it to them to be repaired. It's a new gun, let the manufacturer repair it.
I don't know how, just looking at it, he knew the sear spring was broken. I'm also wondering if someone didn't put it back together correctly. Almost sounds like the disco isn't resetting correctly. |

I agree with all the above.
Let Ruger fix it. The sear spring was not properly installed. It's tricky to get the sear spring fully seated if the gun is assembled in the wrong order. I like to use the mainspring housing, partially installed, to hold the base of the sear spring in its correct location while putting the rest of the gun together. |

Who replaced the spring? Installing the tri-spring can be tricky. My guess is that the spring is not sitting propery on the sear and disconnector. Check out some videos on youtube for 1911 complete disassembly and try and reinstall the spring. I would check this. Easy to mess up! |
