| The Department I work for has just approved the Sig P290 and the Ruger LC9 as secondary duty weapons and for off duty use. Ruger is going to make a special run of LC9 pistols without the safety for our department. |

Why no safety? I'm former LEO and I'd be uncomfortable having no safety and relying only on the heavy trigger pull. I own an LC9 and like it a lot and carry it. My duty gun was a Glock 22 for ten years, so I do understand the various safety mechanisms. Inquiring minds want to know.

Memphis PD, we carry the Sig p229 DAK as our primary firearm that is why they wanted a LC9 without the manual safety. We have about 2500 officers so I would estimate 300 to 500 officers will purchase a LC9. Interesting. Thanks for the reply. Please let us know when and if you get one. I'll be interested in seeing if it's just a matter of them leaving the safety lever out or if they do something else to fill the hole in the frame. I'm thinking about a small, micro 9mm for backup carry when I work at my PD job and the LC9 is being considered. I just wish they'd make it in stainless with stainless mags. Bub75 |

It kills me to go unarmed into Beale St. Music Festival every year..... |

Is Ruger going to leave that dumbass magazine safety out as well? should have never been made with one in the first place. I believe this thing has 50 safety's!! but the magazine safety isnt that hard to remove. It's all about the lawyers and certain states. |

I took it too the range this morning and put 175 rounds through it. Shoots better than I thought it would, not as snappy as I thought it was ould be. I was surprised by the accuracy but that was probably the laser. Has Ruger done anything to correct the looooonnng trigger pull? |

First it the trigger pull was too long. Now it's a false reset. What's next? Do you own one? Yes, I've owned, and carried, one for around a year. I haven't complained about the pull, in this thread, just the reset. I've actually gotten used to the pull, but that little "catch" before it actually resets, is what bugs me. I've gotten good at ignoring it, and I believe there is a fix for it. The lc9 is a great gun for the money, but I will be replacing it with a Shield, when I find one in stock.
