Mine was shipped to my LGS today and should be in my hands friday. Stainless version I'm interested too. Would love to hear your impression of how it shoots. Thanks! Well I like it alot so far. Weather is crap is southern VA right now, so have not been able to shoot it yet, but it feels good in my hand. I held it in my hand with my P345 in my other and was suprised by how compairable it felt being a double stack mag. I definatly like it better with the backstrap reversed. If it shoots like my other SR's I will love it, but I am trying to hold off on passing judgement just yet. To those reading it should be obvious I am a fan of Ruger. I plan to try it out Saturday as tomorrows forcast is calling for rain as well. I will also be shooting my SR1911 for the first time, so it will be a fun filled day... PS. Paid $425 at my local gun store. It was the first they had arrive and I was told the first in the City... |

So I finally got to shoot it yesterday. I fired about 150 rounds through it yesterday and found I really like the gun. I had to place it in context my only other striker fired pistol (Full size glock).
It was more then accurate enough as I was able to make 3 inch 4 shot groups at tenish yards and I am not the best shot. I was feeding it a combination of Winchester white box ammo and some SWC reloads I made a couple years ago, both were issue free. Trigger pull was smooth with a crisp break, obviously not as light as a single action pull, but lighter than that of my glock. I would say that the gun is very compairable to my P345 just in double stack and stiker fired. |

Nice! how was the reset on the trigger? Can you hear it or feel it reset? Honestly, I didn't really pay to close attention. I was also shooting my SR1911 for the first time, and it got more of my attention (And ammo), then the SR. I would say the trigger felt pretty identical to my SR40, but it did feel a little heavier than my SR9C. Might be that the 9 has had about 500 rounds down the pipe already, but just thought I would mention it. It does have the mag disconnect, but I have been told it is easy to remove on the SR pistols. I have not tried to do so on any of mine to date, so I can't back that up for sure. |

Update....
So went shooting with some people who are better shots than I. The expert shot the group was getting 2 inch 5 shot groups at 20ish yards. I meanwhile was able to achieve 5 inch groups at the same distance. So gun is obviously more accurate than me (REALLLLY hard to do....). It out shot sigs, H&K's and was the talk of the group. Some of the raced-up 1911's were doing better, but more than the price of the ruger in modifications, much less original price. It was a well used gun with 5 people all putting atleast 50 rounds each down the pipe. Tow of the other four put down orders for them following shooting. |

I'm glad to hear that it's a good shooting pistol. Now I really want one! |
| I was at an LGS open house this past weekend and they had factory reps there with demo guns to shoot. I got a chance to try out the SR45. WOW! I'm impressed! The SR45 is big and heavy. Recoil felt way softer than my XD45. Muzzle flip is much less as well. The trigger is buttery smooth and the reset is short and noticable. I WANT!!!! I just wish there are magazines available as I'd like to run it in competition. |

I got to shoot one yesterday, and all I can say is WOW! For a .45 it was like shooting a pillow. It was just that cushy of a feel. The reset on the trigger is just like my SR40C, short reset and you will feel and hear it reset. My LGS has them for $440. As soon as they get another one in it will be mine. |

I finally got to shoot my SR45 last Sunday. Love it. I'm getting used to this new fangled striker fired stuff. The SR9c and SR45 are my first two of this design, and I think I like 'em a lot. I was shooing some FMJ and Lead boolits thru it. Was using Bullseye powder in the loads I had. Magazines are unobtainum, as are holsters. I'd like to find a kydex type one for it, like I have for my 1911. |
