Do you think Ruger will do a SR45, or will they stick with the SR1911. I would personally like to see a SR45, slim , maybe 9-11 rounds. 4.5-5in barrel, better trigger with shorter reset would be nice.

I'd say no, but every time a question like this comes up regarding caliber options in Ruger guns, I get proven wrong.


The P345 is the closer internal competitor to the SR1911, and it is terribly outdated.  I don't exactly see people beating down the doors for those guns, so I'm sure it all comes down to how much it would cost to tool up an additional parts for the SR line versus maintaining the sunk costs of the P345 line.    I don't think the would sell THAT much more, but it would certainly round out the lineup well.

I think most Ruger fans will tell you that you'd rather that they concentrate on SR1911 production

I know I will hang for this but I am not a 1911 fan I am a SR fan, I would be interested I in an sr45

This.  And I have the P345 and am just waiting for local places to get a sr1911 in stock.  Also waiting on the SR22...
