Since I was in the market for a new CCW, i did a lot of research and went on a lot of blog sites. I wanted a small gun that was going to be great for quick trips to the store, in shorts and a t-shirt, or light on the ankle. I always liked the LCP since its debut, Light Compact Pistol, perfect!!
After reading a lot on blog sites, it seemed that it was hit or miss with the little gun. Some people said it jammed all the time, some complained about the sights, some said it would jam with certain hollow points and some said that pocket lint would jam the weapon. After looking at all the other weapons in its class, (and hearing about their faults) I decided that I would take a chance with the Ruger. After purchasing the weapon, I cleaned the hell out of it and lubbed it properly before taking it to the range. After putting 150 rounds down range(50 being Gold Dot Hollow Points) on the first day without a hiccup, I don't know where all the jam stories are coming from. Maybe I haven't had it long enough, maybe I got a gun that wasn't built on a Monday or Friday, but so far, for what it is, it is a great little gun!! Even with the sights, I was able to put rounds on target at 25 yards (concentration on the front sight should be stressed here). Moving backwards from 7-12 yards on the move while firing was certainly not an incredibly difficult task for the gun. I tried rapid fire, weak hand and still I was not able to get the gun to jam. Sorry about the long windedness, just happy about the new toy!! |

I don't really have a problem with it being built upon the kel-tec platform as it looks like Ruger has really bumped it up a notch (better extractor, etc.), but the kel-tec 9 i had years ago had a trigger best described as similar to a swingline stapler. Does the Ruger have a better trigger than the kel-tecs? |

Sounds like the kel-tec as I remember it. |
