| Stopped a little while ago at a place I frequent and he had a new one in the case. Well with three kids and school starting back up I couldn't just up and buy it or even put it on the layaway they have. Well today I put it on layaway. It's the silver slide model. I've been needing to get me another pistol and plan on getting the wife one. If she can handle the .40 I'll get another one but if not he has SR9Cs and of course many other ones for her to look at. When I get it I'll do a range report. |

Got mine this last February...absolutely love it, NEVER an issue with it firing! The thumb safety is a bit on the small side and the mag release was bumped a few times early on but I've since learned how to grip the gun properly and that hasn't been as issue since. I've shot three or four IDPA local meets and am trying to improve...looking to signup for some training in the near future as well.
Hope you like your SR40 as much as I do mine when ya get it! Gene |
| I bought an SR9C and wish I didn't. I own a bunch of Ruger products and am usually a big fan (mini 30, 10-22, Red label, mark III, blackhawk, SR9C, LC9, LCP) so don't think I am just out to bash Ruger. But my SR9C is terrible. Have terrible problems with barrel peening despite sending it back to the factory, had a striker problem (Failure to fire, weak spring) that was fixed, but I am still not sure I trust it, a broken recoil spring, and lastly the messed up slide release. I like my LC9 and LCP 1000 times better than my SR9C. Hopefully they have fixed these issues on the SR40. |

Whenever I picked up my 9c and shot it, I told myself I'd grab a 40c if they ever made one. It's now on the list. OP, look forward to seeing your thoughts on your soon to be new purchase! |
