I last cleaned and lubed my LCP in mid July with TW25b oil. Carried it a lot in August. Got around to cleaning it today.

The brl hood was rust spotted is discolored and there was rust on the outside of the slide.  I've had it a couple years clean it after every range trip or monthly if i havent shot it for awhile.

My LCP is an early pre recall one with the brl thats in the white instead of blued. This is the only handgun i have ever had rust.

Wont be using TW25b oil on the LCP anymore or going 6 weeks between cleanings..

That sucks man.  Try some WD-40 and steel wool to shine her back up.

I use CLP and/or Hoppes on mine, no rust ever and it's always in my pocket in a leather holster. It gets damp.....

I had mine in a case for a few weeks. Went to retrieve it and it had rust on the slide. It wiped off with a rag and lube but it had me concerned. No idea where the moisture came from.

It's from the fabulous Kansas humidity!

my lcp is in my pocket right now .. and it has rust on the slide, on the barrel hood enough that you really can't read 380 anymore and even inside the barrel and I dont give a shit.  its a concealment pistol that is meant to be carried everywhere and if the time ever comes that I NEED to use it .. its going to sit in a property room forever and a day before they return it to me and guess what .. its going to be rusted then too even if it was in pristine condition prior.

FWIW - I do shoot the gun and I do clean and oil it .. but carrying in a pocket holster and working a physically demanding job (sweat) I just don't feel the need to clean it every other day to avoid a little surface rust.

My barrel hood got rusty after a rainy trip to the ranges. I scrubbed it with clp and a brass brush.  I was able to get most of it out.

Mine is rusty at the end of everyday that I carry it. So I'm going to plate the slide and metal internals with electroless nickle with the DIY kit that I got for Christmas.
