Hello folks. After asking many questions and posting multiple threads about which first 1911 to buy, I decided to get a Kimber with internal extractor. (special thanks to SGB and Lumpy) I found a used Custom II with internal extractor and got it @ $560 with night sights.   First off, now I don't even play with the Glocks anymore.   I tried 3 mags, one Kimber, one Wilson and one Chip McCormick. Fired 100 rounds after cleaning in first session and have had no pistol malfuctions of anykind. However, the Wilson mag jammed everytime feeding the last round, so I sent it back and got another Chip McCormick 8-rounder. I did some rapid fire tests and didn't jam once. I shot my best groups using this Kimber, 1.25" at 15 yards, 5 shots. I never even got close to that with any of the Glocks. I admit I'm a horrible pistol shooter but this thing seems to be consistent. And yes, now I understand why you folks like 1911s so much!  I'm going to replace the grip on that one since I like the rubber diamond grips better. (plus it looks more skinny too) |

Oh man. Should have kept the Wilson. The spring needs to settle down. They take some breaking in to be 8rd reliable, after that they run like a top. Glad you joined the happy Kimber owners Go to Walmart and get some of the Remington 230 JHP value packs. I cant believe how accurate they are out of my Kimber. |
