Took the new Kimber to the range today. Fed 200 rounds of FMJ Ball (Remington and Magtech). Nary a hiccup of any kind and the accuracy was outstanding. Was able to place shots in a 3" group at 25 yards all day(I know the guns is probably capable of better:I'm no deadeye!). Seems like a really great pistol. Now,to replace that ammo............

It's one of the best production pistols made to become a deadeye with though.

I have a Custom Target that is years old and was my most expensive gun until I took the plunge on a custom STI.

Kimber makes a fantastic gun once you get past the general retardation that the MIM worrier's suffer from or the FTF GLOCK fanboys scream about when they try to run no name 70 year old Bulgarian surplus ammo through it.

i recently picked up a kimber custom II and I am very satisfied with it. I would recommend replacing the sights though immediately. Im using the tru-glow night sights, and they work very well. I also changed the grips on mine to the thin g10 grips, but now that i think about it, it really wasnt necessary. Looks nice though. Lots of people may talk about the mods you could do to it, but personally, it think leave it alone. No need to fix it if its not broken.  I almost bought a springer mil-spec, but i was able to snag this one for 700 new, so i think i got a hell of a deal on a quality 1911. Its also my first. Goodluck and good shooting!!

just wanted to add, i used to love remington ammo, and I still use the remington golden sabres over every other round out there save gold dot, but remington target ammo sux. Iv had great luck with the winchester white box, that u can just buy at walmart. its a dirty round, but iv had several bad primers in my recent  remington buys.

That was EXACTLY my situation,BigCheese84. I'm assuming you bought from Bud's also?

no. close though. I bought at a local store where the kimber sat for a year at 750. offered him 700 cash and he went for it. Im pretty happy with it. Nothing against the springers, but I like the modern 1911. Kimber's are usually out of the box accurate with really nothing that needs changing for the most part. Have yet to order anything from buds, but have been tempted too. Its hard to beat their prices.
