Just got a new recoil spring for my Tac Pro II. When I took the original off it was shorter than the new one. Is this normal? This is my first Kimber and 1911 and also the original spring. The new spring came from Kimber and is the 22lb for the pro model.

Yes. A worn spring will be shorter.

The old spring will be compressed due to use. You will be fine.
