I bought a new SS Ultra Carry to carry off-duty.  I went to the range today and qualified with and then went home.  I later went to break it down to clean it and noticed the guide rod was missing.  Call the indoor range and they located it for me and now its back together.

Has anyone had the guide rod come unscrewed on them before?

It looks like the lock tite did not hold.

Thanks,

Never happened to me, but then the first thing to go would be the guide rod anyway

Not only has it never happened, I've never heard of it happening!

I've never heard of that specific thing happening, but I've heard ofenough other problems with two-piece rods coming apart that I stick to full size 1911s and only use the original style stubby guide rods in them.

Yup, three people I know of and one of them never found it. Glad I carry a Les Baer Stinger and don't have that problem.

Never had it happen or heard of it happening...I really don't understand how it could happen...however,

I've shot a 1000+ rounds out of mine without a problem.   FYI:  My Ultra Carry is a little prone to FTF if I don't clean it every 250 rounds...
