I was at a tactical shooting class this past summer when the external extractor on my tactical pro II flew out of my gun. I sent it to Kimber for repair, as this is a common problem and they've been going above and beyond replacing the extractor and putting entirely new slides with internal extractors on the guns.

What I'm very happy about:
1. They replaced the slide. I now have an internal extractor!
2. They either replaced or reblued all non-aluminum colored parts on the gun.

What left to be desired
1. There are a couple of spots on the slide with a goldish color speckles on it... kind of like it's worn through the bluing due to a scratch. I'm not sure though, maybe it's something that will come off. In fact, I'm going to try some brass solvent. No matter what happens, it's in way better shape than my old slide!

You can see the markings, though they are blurred, in the above picture. Sorry, I just took it with my blackberry.

I'm very happy with Kimber, and am thinking about getting a used 10mm.

Those are brass marks from ejected brass.  There is probably a long ejector installed that keeps the brass from coming back towards the shooters face.
