[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Kimber 22 Conversion Kit

I just picked up a Kimber 22 LR conversion kit in silver. I have a USA model Kimber 1911. It fit perfectly and hand cycles nice and smooth. I put the mag in and it does not lock in place. Has anyone used one of these before? Should it lock? It looks like the bottom plate hits the bottom bevel of the mag well. Almost like the mag is to short or something.

I am still hoping to get it to the range tomorrow and see does it feed the ammo.

I have the Black Kimber convresion on a 1st model custom target. The mags do lock in place. But I don't think that the slide will lock back on an empty mag (not sure, haven't shot it in a while)

I have the same one works great with good ammo. I have a kimber super match with magwell and mag locks in place

Mine hits the MagWell and stops short. I am going to contact Kimber and see what they say. I will let you know how it goes.

I called Kimber today and without any hesitation they told me to ship the mag back and they would send a different one out for the Team Match II pistol. So far so good.
