I have heard that certain types of mags are not good for Kimber aluminum frames.

What is the REAL deal with this???

I have 3 Kimbers, 2 Aluminums and one steel. I use WC 47D's for all of them. I recently had the ejector on my Ultra CDP break, But NEVER a problem with my tactical custom. I use the CDP for practice and self defense/carry gun and the tactical for NRA and plinking, IDPA. I have a Pro raptor that has never hiccuped.

Is the mag the problem and do I have to go to a different type of mag, or is it just a part that broke and think nothing of it?

Its the CMC's (Chip McCmormick) that are bad for aluminum frames as the followers tilt forward after the last round and chew up the feed ramp as the aluminum is softer than the steel follower.

What he said. Personally I avoild all split follower mags on my alloy kimbers as a matter of course.  The Wilsons are fine.

Might be less of an issue with the Series II guns. My wifes series II ultra has a ramped barrel, while my series I is traditional.

all my kimbers are series II's.
If I'm not mistaken aren't the factory Kimber mags split ramp style though?

Dealing with the broken ejector issue. Can I have a "bulletproof stle one replaced for the broken one or do I have to stick with what Kimber will warranty since they vary from 70's and 80's style 19111's?
