I have two kimbers (Warrior and SS Ultra Carry).  I have problems with rust forming on the exterior portion of the barrel on both of them.  I have to keep them exceptionally oily to prevent the formation of the rust.  Anyone else have this issue?

Additionally, anyone have any ideas on how to get the rust off?  I've scrubbed the hell out of both with a copper and stainless brush (plus solvent) and can get it to fade but that's about it.  Am open to suggestions.  Thanks.

I had this problem back when I first bought my Warrior.  I used never dull to get it off.  I asked someone about it and they said it was not the barrel rusting but metal residue from shooting rusting on the barrel.  I'm not sure if thats true but mine has not done it in over a year.  I think maybe I cleaned it off twice.

Here is your cure......... This stuff takes rust you can't see off of blue steel without harming the blueing.

When I purchased my Warrior it came with some discoloration on the barrel. I Flitz'd  it and all the discoloration was gone. When I clean my 1911's I reassemble using a dab of wheel bearing grease on the tip of my finger to wipe over the exterior of the barrel. It leaves just a film of lubrication and of course provides corrosion protection as well.

Thanks for the direction fella's.  That Fritz stuff seems like a fancy kind of NeverDull.  AND THAT brings back memories of overcrowded, smelly squad bays and sharp pointed brims wearing out a groove in my forehead.  LOL.

I'll pick some up and give it a try.
