Last weekend my wife shocked the heck out of me when she told me to get the Kimber Custom TLE II that I had been looking at. I hadn't asked about it at all but she said that she saw in my eyes how much I liked it when I was looking at it. She said that she wanted to suprise me - mission accomplished. I plan to start my breakin (using ball ammo) soon but have a few questions for you all first. What kind of hollow points/expanding ammo would you recommend? The use would be home defense/concealed carry (cold weather). What kind of magazines would you recommend? Thanks for the assistance. CSP |
Wilson Combat mags work great, check the gun shows I have been seeing Winchester Ranger LE overruns $15 for 50 230 GR SXT JHP all year long.

Yup definetly get the Wilson mags. Thats what i carry and operation of my customII has been flawless with them. As far as what round to carry, I use 230grain Hydra Shoks for the most part. I would just try a bunch and see what you can buy and afford to practice with a bit and see what shoots best for you and agrees best with the gun. Some of these guys can be picky eaters. That said just shoot the crap out of it, mine has 2K+ rounds through it and it still functions flawlessly... Have fun

I'm jealous, and "saving" to get "that size" 1911! In spite of the "nonsense" around here, I've been impressed with my Govt. size Kimbers. FWIW, I do think the "upgraded" mags are worth the money if you plan to carry it! (Wilson I love, but think there are others out there just as good...) OK, I've shot quite a few "quality" JHP brands with no problems (other than the one cheap magazine that got tossed). Regardless, definitely plan on a 200-500/600 round "Break In". If nothing else, the "memory training" from a little sharper recoil and "anti-limping" will be a good exercise! In the end, I'd "bet money" that you have one hell of a good gun! (prepare for the "Glock attack  ).Thanks again, and all I "need" is another 1911/.45... (I'm filing bankruptcy!).  B2 Oh yeah, for the rest of you "experts" out there, has anyone done "RECENT" testing with the CorBon PowerBall? (Sucked at first, but a decent concept for semi-autos if they got it "fixed"...) |

OK, I'm an "id-jit" but since this is a tech forum, I won't edit... misread what you're buying. I STILL want a "Warrior" and an "Ultra Carry" and/or a .45 I can put a light on it... (BTW, I have a Raptor and Gold Match...) Wouldn't change anything else as far as advice...  B2
