Anyone know if they may be making an attachment like this? Kinda likee what HK is doing, where you can take an older model and add a light rail to it if needed. Just wondered as I purchased a Classic Custom for a killer deal from a buddy. All ready have an X200 I use on my G35 and would love to swap it from time to time. Thanks

There are three options I've seen for adding a light rail to a non-railed 1911: Dawson, Yost-Bonitz, and Sure-Fire.

IIRC the Sure-Fire is the only one that doesn't require machining (drilling) into your dust cover but it is also bulkier and IIRC requires the slide release to be replaced due to the thickness of the mount, but I could easily be wrong on that.

I'm thinking about having a 'smith install either the Dawson or Yost-Bonitz rail for my Kimber sometime soon.

He summed up the surefire option fairly well, but....

Having had a Surefire MR07 adapter installed on my Colt Combat Elite for a while, I wasn't all that impressed. The rails weren't as wide as Picatinny (and maybe Weaver) standard, and so the X200 didn't fit snugly. The adapter did leave some scuff marks on the frame's dust cover, too.

....and then I bought myself a Desert Warrior for Christmas

Anyone want to buy a lightly used surefire MR07 adapter?

Hey I still have those little plastic attachments for my X200, how do those work. Do you operate those with your middle finger??

That's the optional TG-11 switch assembly (That Calvin from BrightFlashlights just sent to me). The rocker switch works just like yours, and also has a tape switch under the trigger guard, that I can actuate with light downward pressure on my weak hand's middle finger. The strong side middle finger can do it too, but it feels awkward sticking it out there.

As far as those extra plastic parts, I changed out the "U" plate to the "P" plate, and reassembled it.

Saw a new one from Fobus/TDI called the "Under Barrel Rail". Anyone have an experience or reviews for this one. About half the price of everything I have thus seen. Thanks
