I've been shopping for a nice used full size eclipse and see some that are marked Custom Shop on the slide and some that are not. The web site does not show the Eclipse as a Custom Shop gun so I wonder if this was something they did a few years ago. They all seem to have the ambi-saftey but are otherwise like any other Eclipse. Are there any other differences? Also I've head the polished finish on the Eclipse scratches easily. Any issues here? I don't plan to carry the gun, just use it at the range. |
| In the Eclipse's first year which I belive was 02 they were a custom shop gun and the slide was marked that way. They later went into regular production and lost the custom shop markings as well as the ambi safety. Other than that I believe they are still the same gun. Yes the finish does scratch VERY easily. For a range gun if you be careful with it the wear shouldn't be too bad but for carry it will show wear fast. Mine had scratches when it was brand new and has more from me stripping it when I really didn't know what the hell I was doing when I first got it. |
