No matter how fugly this is, it is another new handgun, which is great news here in the land of the free!My guess is that it will soon be available in .45acp for the military tests that will happen in the new year...but I could be wrong.

If you buy guns for looks then maybe not the one for you.  If you buys guns as tools and protection then don't judge until you try for yourself.  Kimber is a fine product and I'm curious how they will compete with the other plastic gun makers on the market.  I was thinking about picking up a Glock or XD, now I'm going to wait and see reports on this new Kimber.

design reminds me of the Steyr polymer frame pistols (M1A)that were introduced this year.

an educated guess here...

either kimber is borrowing heavily from that design or they purchased the design from Steyr, made a few changes, and now market it under the Kimber name. (a 'la Springfield XD/ croat design)

I don't care for the KPD at all.

I'll hold onto my opinion until after I have some time behind the trigger.

aesthetics aside, normally so would I.

I don't care for DAO pistols.  Call me a traditionalist, but I prefer a hammer on my semi's.

Even HK's "nub" on their USPc will work for me...

eta: and a magazine disconnect?
