Looking at my first Kimber. Probably will be a range only gun. May carry here and there but more than likely not. Trading a Rem 700 for one of the following:
1.Kimber Tactical Pro 4''. 2 Mags. 200 Rounds through it. Night Sites. 2.Kimber Raptor II Stainless 4-4.5''. 5 Mags. 200-300 Rounds through it. Grip upgrade. Night Sites. Is there much difference between these two other than finish? I don't know anything about 1911's, let alone specifically Kimbers. |

If I had the choice of the 2 I would go with the raptor. Nicer grips and nicer janine work with the fish scale slide serrations and front strap. Over all a nicer gun tho I don't know the specifics of each gun versus each other. I do believe the captors are a custom shop series tho someone please correct me if im wrong. I do know the raptor costs more.

| Personally I would opt for the Raptor. Either one would be fine though, its a tough choice. Pick the one that feels better to you because there isn't much difference other than one being a 5" bushing gun (raptor) or a 4" bull barrel gun (tactical pro). It is easier to install a new barrel or change things like the guide rod and spring in the Raptor being a bushing barrel gun if that is something you ever might want to do, though there isn't really any need for it. |
