I have a Baby Eagle in 9mm. I took it out today for the first time today.

I was using S and B 115grn ammo. It does have a sealant on the primer.

I had several failures to fire with about every mag. I figured it was the ammo with the sealant so, I cleaned out the hole with the firing pin and sprayed some CLP in there.

I then tried again with WWB (no sealant) and had similar results.

Has anyone else had failure to fires from the Baby?

If so, how did you fix it?

I have feed about 1000 rounds of different stuff, wolf, cci, speer gold dots, etc. through my baby nine and no problems. Try cleaning it good and us compressed air to help. All I can think of is the firing pin or some spring is weak? I am not a good gunsmith so I do not know. I have never had a problem with my 9mm or .45 ACP.

good luck

It sounds like you might have a fireing pin problem, it could be out of spec. I've yet to have a failure to fire with my baby eagle. Did you try dropping the hammer on the round more than once? If it doesn't fire the first time try dropping the hammer on it again and see if it fires, if it does it could be hard primers. Thats about all I can think of.

I did try dropping the hammer more than once, It would discharge the the second try on DA.

I don't know- 1 year warranty- may have to use it.

First, I will try cleaning the firing pin hole thouroghly and firng with just WWB. Maybe it was the primer sealent.

If it's not fireing on the first strike the only thing I can think of is hard primers. But with two different types of ammo that would seem to not be the case......

Hmmm Now you got me worried, I just got a new iring pin spring for mine and I noticed it was longer than the old one, of course that could be because the old one is the original and it could have compresed a bit over the years and the rounds. Of course the new recoil spring was the same way, visably longer than the old one I replaced.......

Keep us updated on it.
