I received my LEM trigger kit for my USP .45 tactical with the intention of mirroring the LEM/Match hybrid trigger in the Custom Comp. I have retained the safety and am using the Match hammer spring from the stock gun. All directions that I have come across said the only parts needed for this conversion were the Hammer, Cocking Piece, and Cocking Piece Spring.
My question is about the sear - should I use the sear from the LEM kit or the stock sear from the Tactical? I haven't seen any mention of replacing the sear for this conversion, but looking at how the Cocking Piece Spring leg sits on the sear, I figured I'd check with those in the know. I am currently using the sear from the LEM kit, and the gun is functioning just fine, but I wanted to know which sear is the more appropriate one to use. Thanks, ~Bill |

This is direct from HK:
To convert a USP pistol equipped with a standard DA/SA Match trigger to the Combat Competition (Match LEM) trigger one would need the following parts from a USP/C LEM kit. Not a Match LEM kit. Hammer-219452 Hammer Axel-214258 Hammer Spring-214695 Cocking Piece-219443 Cocking Piece Spring-219444 Also: The Combat Competition uses TRS # 209266 and Hammer Spring # 215694. Just in case your gun didn't come with a nickel plated sear spring, the Combat Competition uses part # 215691 nickel plated sear spring. Therefore, to answer your question, you use the sear from the match trigger kit, not the LEM kit. |
| On the USPC to LEM conversion I used the entire LEM kit sans the TRS, FPBS, and hammer axle. I only retained the hammer axle so I could retain the safety. I did use the sear from the LEM kit. On the full sizes USP Tactical I converted I only used the parts from the LEM kit that HK said I needed to use to convert to the CC match/LEM hybrid, so I did not use the kit sear in that. |
