The round count is maybe 3000-5000 rounds or so.

I performed a good cleaning and oil.  Nothing major, just the basic.

When I racked it, I notice that the hammer is causing more friction then before (more like catching a little when the hammer is being pulled back).  When i start to rack it, i notice the hammer and the bottom slide is not  parallel.  is it normal or am I over concerned?

Thanks for the input.

edit: When i am racking the slide back is when it is catching a little when the hammer is being pulled down.  I just reworded it, to make myself clearer.

Did you disassemble anything in the frame?

Disassemble everything again and check to be sure you put it back together correctly.

nope, i never disassemble anything in the frame.

I just field strip it.  I do not do anything else to it.

I just never notice that extra Resistance, catching before.   If I do it really hard and fast,  I do not notice it.  I find out about it because my hands were oily and so my pull was not at 100%.

Is it an LEM or a DA/SA trigger?

LEM, no single action.

Check your recoil spring assembly.  Make sure everything is OK on that end, that might be the drag you are feeling.  Check the hammer axle to make sure it is in the proper position.  Look down in at the flat spring and check to make sure it is not broken.  The hammer may not be spaced equally on both sides but it should be parallel to the slide opening.  Also, check to make sure the legs of the cocking piece spring are where they should be, one on the hammer, one on the sear.

OK everything looks good, as per the pic.  Is it just one spring with a catch on the hammer?   I notice two grooves.

I am just paranoid, I think.   Everything seems to work, I will take it to target practice next week, just to make sure.

Yes, just one spring that fits in the very slight depression on the left side of the hammer if holding the gun pointed away from you, opposite as in the picture.
