Does anyone really shoot with thier weak hand  finger on the trigger guard?

I think that is why the front of so many trigger guards are grooved.  I tried it on my USP compact since it is so small in my hands and I need a place to put some of my fingers but it didn't feel right.

Many competitive shooters do with un-comped handguns. Helps keep the muzzle down, they say.
