getting ready to buy a HK with the LEM trigger...
How much of a difference is the LEM vs. the standard?
what is the difference?
Is it the pull, or is it staged or what?

Rally,

I have two H&Ks with LEM triggers.

The best way to describe it....

Once it's cocked, the trigger goes back to the normal "DA" position. If you pull on it, there is little weight for the takeup. Then it stages at a ~5 pound pull where the normal "SA" reset is. After that, it acts like an SA style trigger. If you let go, the trigger returns to the normal "DA" position.

So the first pull is long, two-stage, but light.

The following are just like shooting SA.

IM me if you want to try it out. I'll be at TCGC Sat and likely Albany on Sun. I have a heavier LEM on my P2000SK in .40 and a lighter one on my USP40FS. If you want, I can also bring out the USP45 Tactical for a comparison with the standard DA/SA.

I'm sure BigBore will be along shortly.

The LEM is double action only.  I converted my USPc 40 from DA/SA to LEM and I like it.

For me it went from a pretty heavy DA pull to a light, smooth pull.  The first part of the trigger pull feels little more than taking up slack but in reality the hammer is going back.  Then you meet a slight (5-7 lb) resistance which trips the hammer and boom. The system is essentially precocked.  The overall length of pull is the same.

ETA: after the first shot, the trigger reset is short, not a short as on a glock but plenty short for quick double taps.

YOU know I cannot pass on this one.
I was a die-hard V1 SA/DA fan until I gave the LEM an honest chance.  It was good as an LEM V2 8 pound pull, but after I changed it to LEM V1 5 pound pull I fell head over heels flat out in love with the trigger.
While it is a DAO trigger in the V1 LEM version it is as light as the standard V1 SA trigger.  Long take up on first shot breaking at 5 pounds, then a short .3 inch reset (SA reset is .245 so there is not much change from the LEM rest from the SA reset) for the next shot with all shots breaking at 5 pounds.
The only trigger I can imagine better would be the Combat Competition trigger which is a mix of Match and LEM parts to give a truly outstanding trigger, and this on a combat weapon!

I am glad this subject came up....I have a USP .45 Tactical but have never been able to shoot it as well as my Glocks. I dont doubt the HK accuracy but rather I am very used to the Glock trigger (its basically the only semi auto I have ever shot)

Would it be a realstic mod to put a LEM trigger on a USP .45 Tactical if the factory trigger isnt working so well for me?

Thanks for the pointers. I ended up buying it last night regardless. The anticipation is killing me. Don't think I will get a chance to shoot it until tomorrow either...
So glad I don't have to buy/install another aftermarket trigger

gonna repaint the markings tonite too...
