I am looking at picking one of these up.  Is there any difference in these and the standard USP-f other than the barrel and the sights?

I thought I read somewhere that the slide was different on the SD to make it more compatible with suppressor use???

If it's not, couldn't I just get a standard USP-f and put a threaded barrel in it?

Thanks.

1. No
2. No
3. Yes, but it's cheaper to just buy the SD in the first place since the barrel + sights are going to be $300+

Is this basicly a Tactical model? I know the USP tacticals have a match trigger also. And the bbls on the Tac models have the o-ring, the regular full sizes do not.

The 9SD doesn't have the match trigger or O ring barrel.  The trigger is nice.  The O ring doesn't do jack shit.

The SD has the standard trigger and a standard (non o-ring) threaded barrel

Man!  That's just mean ORinTX...  j/k  Very nice.

Has anyone just added a threaded barrel to the standard USPf?  If so, where did you get it?  How has it worked out for you?

I know several people who've done it with great success.  I think some of them have also switched out the recoil spring.

Jarvis makes barrels.  You can buy them here.

I bought a standard USP-f and added a threaded barrel, later I added the taller sights. I got a used gun for pretty cheap and then built it up. I like it a lot, but for some reason I am having a hard time getting used to the taller sights. I did it my way because I had a hard time finding an SD model around here. I bought my barrel straight from HK.
