I love my issue G22 and CAN carry it concealed off duty, but it is work to do so. It gets a little old. So I have been thinking about buying something a little smaller, and I can't take my eyes off the P2000. My experience with the USP was good, and I can definitely say I wish I had NEVER sold it. A mistake I will never make again to be sure. I have regretted every gun I have ever sold. But I digress. I would really like to shoot the P2000 before I buy one. This has kept me from buying more than one gun in the past I would have been less than happy with. But I can't find anyone around here who has one I could put a few magazines through. So what I am really getting around to with all this rambling is trying to reach out ot someone in the Shreveport area who has a P2000, and would not mind me shooting a little before I buy. Anybody else with anything to contribute on the topic is welcome to chime in. I would appreciate hearing from a few people who have some experience with the gun as well. |

I put approx 100 rounds through my friend's P2000 two weeks ago. Loved it! So much so, that when the P30 comes out, i'll be buying one of each. I love my USPc .45, but having grown up shooting Glock pistols, I have grown to despise a manual safety. Also the HK proprietary rail leaves much to be desired in the way of interchangeability with my SureFire X200, Insight M3 and M6. I much prefer being able to switch lights from my G19 to my HK without having to buy the GG&G or SureFire rail adapter. As for now, my USP sits lightless. ![]() For HD, I want a pistol mounted light. The G19 has been my go to gun for when things go bump in the night. With a 33 rounds in the magwell, i'm ok with ammo. I'm very excited about the P30. I'm trying to talk my friend into an even trade. My G19 for his P2000. So far, he isn't biting! HS1 |
| If I lived near you I would have no problem letting you burn up some ammo. Unfortunately I live in Alabama so the best I can do is tell you that the P2000 is a awesome pistol and off duty weapon. I had no problem qualifing with a 100 on our dept. qualification course. LEM takes some getting used to but once you understand how to use it you might learn to love it. I liked the P2K so much I had to get its little brother the P2SK. Good Luck. |

I would look at the P2000 SK. I prefer the Traditional DA/SA Variant, as I feel safer carrying it than the LEM trigger. I've got one and it's very comfortable to shoot, and more concealable than the P2000. You can get flat mag bottoms if the pinky extension ones bother you. |

I too prefer to carry cocked and locked so the P2K is out for me. I hate having my trigger pull change after the first shot and the LEM trigger is a love/hate thing (I hate it.) The P2K is a nice gun, very ergonomic/comfortable. If you don't mind a DA/SA or LEM trigger, you won't be disappointed with the P2K. I do have a P2KSK (the little baby one) that you're welcome to shoot if you're in the Austin area. |
