| So I'm looking for a good carry gun (concealed). I want it to be in .45 cal. Right now it is a three way tie between a springfield 1911 champion, Sig p220 carry SAO, or a H&K USP 45 compact. My main concern is that I would like to carry the weapon in condition 1 (cocked and locked). I just don't like the pull that first trigger pull on a da/sa. Do any of you carry your USP in condition 1? Any problems with it? |

While I own 4 Springfields & love them dearly, I can safely & quickly say the USP will shoot rings around any of them. I once bought a used Champion that never would run correctly, so I'm put off on those models. I also once owned a P-220 & was hugely disappointed in its accuracy, given the Sig rep. It has long since been sold off. I also find that my USP Compact will outshoot its big brudder, for some odd reason. Lots of other USP owners say the same thing, which completely defies most gun logic, IMO.............

I have been carrying my USPC45 for about a year and a half now. The stainless slide is indestructable. It protects the internals well and absolutely will not wear in leather or moisture. The only discernable holster wear is on my slide release and sights. I carry in condition 1. I replaced the detent plate to eliminate the decock function. I can only get a DA pull on a restrike. I think that is the way to go. I broke the firing pin while dry firing. HK replaced it with a new, redesigned pin. Therefore, look for a later production gun or one with a new pin. If you get an older one, you might want to replace the pin just to be safe. I carry in the 7-8 o'clock position IWB. The gun is a little thick in the slide to carry at 9 o'clock. |

Been CCing for 6 years in condition one -- no problems. 2500 rounds fired, not one stove pipe (Im not picky on ammo types either -- usually whatever Walmart has on sale), or any other malfunction. Agree with previous poster on carry position. The HK is a bit large for 3/9 carry from a printing standpoint, but I'll give up a little on the size for the reliability and accuracy of the HK. |

I also carry a USPc .45 in condition 1. I've never had it come off safe accidentally and I have worn the gun through some pretty rigorous stuff at work. It's too large to pack for any occasion, but when a mouse gun or revolver just won't do the USP gets called up for duty! |
Is that plate a factoy part, where are they available? |
