Right now im not really liking my 9mm 1911 and am looking into a usp or uspc.  Im thinking of wanting it for ccw since my ppk/s is having too many problems for me to like.  Now is their really a noticable reduction in recoil with polymer framed guns (never shot one before) and with the added hk "reduction" system?  Ive been shooting my p220 alot lately and actually think it has a better feeling than my 9mm 1911, if youve shot a uspc and p220 how would you compare them?  Im also gonna try and trade my pre 64 model 94 lever action and hopefully get a uspc .45 and used 98 usp 9mm, so let me know about em so i can make a decision because ive never shot or owned an hk and there are none to rent at the local range

I own both, the P220 and the USPc 45.  I like the USPc better.  Fits me better, and I really don't notice any difference in the recoil but that's just me.  The USPc 45 is what I carry at work.  Both are fine weapons though IMO.

If your hands are on the smallish side, you may shoot the USPc better than the USP.

I have abnormal gorilla freak hands, so I have a USPf, but all of the compacts I've shot have been up to HK par: accurate beyond expectations, reliable to extremes, et al.

With the USPc .45 though, you should probably use +P ammunition to ensure proper bullet performance.

lol, +1. he couldnt have said it better. I own the P220, 1911s, BHPs and the gun i love the most is my H&K USPc .45. The only thing that pisses me off is the rail! Mines the old school USP rail, i saw someplace that they are making them with picanty rails now which really chaps my ass. So, if this is true, make sure you get the new rail.

You will not be disapointed. They are the best!

Good luck, post up when you get/shoot yours for the first time!

Ditto on the small hand advice above.

I owned a P-220 for a while & own three 1911s in .45acp & have both the compact & fullsize USP in .45acp. Recoil is kinda subjective from person to person, but I doubt *I* could really tell much (if any) difference in recoil of all the full sized .45s............

Some folks will tell you their USP Compact is more accurate than their USP Fullsize. I know that is contrary to all gun logic, but the Compact is GD amazing in accuracy. Pity is only has a 8rd mag..............

Mine fits my medium sized hands perfectly and goes bang every time no matter what ammo I use.

It's a perfect size to carry and I have done so every day for almost a year.

The only downside is mags are expensive and I've only seen 8 round mags.

cals is now allowing preorders for 10 rd. mags. i guess for the HK45 compact and the uspc45.

thanks for all the info and help so far! Is a uspc .45 ss worth 850 because thats all they have down at the local shop, its got very little barrel wear and is a 98... very good condition overall.

that's a bit more than i would pay for a used uspc even in stainless.  tell them you don't want stainless and order one in.

but OMGWTFLOL the uspc .45 kicks ass.  i can empty the mag as fast and shooting the same group as a 9mm uspc.

hk's in general rock, tho.

I think it is the USPCT that has the Picatinny rail slot.  I have not seen any pics of the USPC with that set up.  Between the threaded barrel and the rail I may have to go with the CT when I get home.  Has anyone seen a regular USPC .45 with the new rail?
