| i am wondering how hard it would be to lower the trigger pull to under a pound on my usp |
Ok... I just bought my USP40f in september. The only model the local turners could get was a LEM version. You mentioning the "Maybe LEM" has me wondering what is so special about the LEM models? |
Nothing is special about them. I have a P2000sk in LEM and it's probably my least favorite trigger of the bunch, but from what I've heard the LEM is lighter than a V7 DAO. |
The standard DAO, V5, 6, 7, & 8 (non US) has a DA pull like the DA pull on a SA/DA (V1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10), but obviously sans the SA. The LEM uses a pre-loaded hammer spring system that lowers the DAO pull to either 8 (V2), 7 (V4), or 5 (V1) pounds. It also has double strike capability the same as the DAO V5, 6, 7,and 8. However, if the slide is not racked first to preload the hammer spring on the LEM, the pull will be very similar to the standard DA pull, or 13 pounds, but you do not need to preload the hammer like you do on the Glock's striker fired system. To determine if you have a LEM trigger, make sure the gun is unloaded, then check it again. Rack the slide and release and pull the trigger, then without doing anything else, pull the trigger again. On a standard DAO both pulls will feel the same, about 13 pounds. On the LEM trigger, the first pull will be much lighter (preloaded about 8 pounds for a V2) than the second pull (not preloaded since the slide did not cycle and will be about 13 pounds). |
