How do you take the firing pin out?  The only HK takedown webpage I can find only says to take out the two drift pins, it doesn't say anything about order or anything else.

Also, does anyone strip their slide regularly (yearly, bi-yearly, etc.) to clean the firing pin and extractor?

Thanks!

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that I am talking about a USP 45f

Order doesn't matter.  One of the pins is for the extractor and the other pin is for the firing pin.  I removed mine after approx. 50k rounds and learned that it wasn't necessary.  I will not remove them again unless I need to replace a part.

It sure can't hurt to take it down, but I don't make it a habit.  I've never had an HK malfunction, but more cleaning is better than less cleaning, so long as you know how to put it back together right.

Thanks for the replies.

I noticed that the pins aren't flush on either side of the slide and one of them is deeper than the other.  Did they move on mine or is that the way it's supposed to be (and should I put them back at that same exact depth)?
