I posted the below question in TheGodFather's excellent post  but didn't get anything back.  So.....starting my own.  Thanks fellas........

I typed:

"Glad I searched around the boards a bit here before I pulled a major dupe...

The Godfather has asked my question for me and I'm quite certain I have made my decision but I have one other question on this Tac vs. standard USP discussion I would like to ask.

It has been me experience with firearms that sometimes more can be less in the way of durability and "ruggedness". For the gurus here - has there been any problems or issues with the match grade trigger and adjustable sights on the tactical being problem areas or more prone to breakage than the standard USP parts?

I have been very impressed with the testing that was done on the USPs and I'm wondering if the same testing was done on the USPs with the upgraded parts.

Thanks for the great info"

The Tactical was designed with rugged use in mind - it's very robust and durable.  I would imagine it would hold up to just about anything you can throw at it.

I have used an H&K USP Tactical off and on in Competition (Production class) for a couple of years now and have had no problems with it at all. It has the Variant 9 detent and a Fiberoptic front sight I made myself. I did have to put a dab of locktight on the overtravel screw in the trigger. It seemed to move a tad after a couple of matches and it would cause it to not fire. Not a good situation in a defensive arm. But I only use it in competition. My 1911 is still my bedside companion. In any event the locktight seems to have cured it.
