Who makes the best rail adapter for the USP compact.  I thought about the gg&g, but recently read some negative reviews of the same.

Thanks

Ive got the GG&G, use it on my USP Compact with a TLR-1. No issues so far. Its been off and on the pistol probably 50 times over the last few years, has held up fine.

gg&g user here.  No complaints at all in several years.

I'm curious what the negative reviews are?

I had a GG&G rail adapter for my USP (full size) before I sold the pistol.....Was rock solid...dont see the need for the extra $ for the Surefire mount..

Had a Surefire X300U mounted on it.

Id buy another without hesitation.

I just sold my usp compact and always had a ggg. Worked flawlessly.

I think that it's functionally identicle to the surefire but is at half the price. I've not seen anyone ever have an issue with these mounts. GGG is known for making great gear.

GG&Gs on my three USPs. They are great and have gone through thousands and thousands of rounds and they've always held zero.

I bought a GG&G rail 3 or 4 years ago for my full size USP and have never had any issues with it. Started with TLR-1 and the. changed to a TLR-1s last year. I bought the rail when I ordered a Raven Concealment Holster that accommodates a light.

With the light not installed, but the rail adapter on will the gun still fit in a regular holster designed for said pistol?

Won't fit in any of mine with the rail still attached. That's why I remove it whenever the light isn't on. I have a Raven Phantom holster for when the light is installed.

That is one of the reasons I moved away from the USP C line for my newer HK acquisitions. My lighted Hk's are now a P30 and P2000, and the USP C mainly stays unlighted nowadays.

More or less, no. I tried a couple, from plastic to leather. I ended up having Raven make it a Kydex holster for the gun and adapter, but NO light/laser attached. It's not listed on their site, but they said just add in the comments no light and they can make it. Worked for me.

GG&G all the way. I run one on my full size USP 45 for TLR-1. I have never taken it off in the years i have had the gun. Had a Crown Holster made for it with the adapter on the gun.

I installed a GG&G rail adapter on my USPf .40. Works great.  Use Loctite and crank the bolt to spec'd tightness.  Works great.  $50 at MidwayUSA.  With the light removed, the rail does prevent holstering in the original holster.  The trade-off is worth it, all you have to do is get a new holster.
