| I haven't heard anything good about Promags but my question is, is most of the problem with the springs or overall construction? Or, if I bought the Promags and replaced the mag springs with ones from Wolf would that make them fairly reliable? $20 plus new springs goes down alot easier than $50 per mag. Thanks. |

I have read about various problems, you could do a search over here and read for yourself. hkpro.websolv.com/ |
| You would likely need to replace the followers also. I know of one guy who did the follower and spring swap and it turned out OK, but $25 for the mag, $3 for the spring, $5 for the follower, you have $33-$40 including shipping tied up in the mag and it still might not work if the lips aren't correct. Mag prices suck for certain, but we all knew that (or should have) going into it so it should not be a surprise. IMHO get the HK mag and you will sleep better at night. |

I got 3 Pro-Mags from my dealer. Ran 250 rd through them yesterday using my USP45. No problems. Gonna buy some more. Wish HK would come down on their price. Off the subject, I shot some Wolf ammo in my USP40. After 10 rds fired, I had a failure to eject. The slide locked 1/8 out of battery. Had to "rip" the slide to the rear, ejecting a "SPLIT" casing. Watch out for the Wolf ammo. Cheap but you get what you pay for.... Jynx |

Promag springs are horrible. Very weak. The construction of the mag is pretty sloppy compaired to an HK. They don't have all the holes in the back telling you exactly how much ammo you've got in the mag either. With Wolff springs and downloading some Promag 10rders to 9 rounds, my promags have been okay. They do not drop free, and often do not lock the slide back when empty, but are okay for range use. |
