Friends,

Can you please give me your thoughts on getting some trigger work done on my P30 by Bill Springfield? I've read some very positive reviews and some horror stories such as trigger not resetting. Those threads were 3+ years old though and wanted to see if anyone has any recent experience. My gut says to not do it, so that is likely what I will go with, but wanted to hear some other thoughts and ideas.

Thanks for your time.

Justin

PS If you don't know who I am talking about, this is the website;

I have had Bill 2 triggers for me, an AR trigger and an HK91 trigger.

They were OK, but I am not sure of long term durability.

Knowing what I know now, I would skip his stuff.

Send your P30 to Bruce Gray at Gray Guns, and be happy knowing that you didn't comprimise.

Do some searchs in the AR discussions forum. He pops up there often also. I've heard some people say that he does great work, but I've seen more people say that they either had to send the trigger back multiple times to be fixed, or the trigger was ruined in the process. I've never had him do any work, so I cannot personally vouch for or against him. I just urge to do some searching first before you send anything to him.

Thanks for the info folks.

I've been searching for info about him a lot, my gut says no though, despite many positive reviews. It only takes a handful "horror" stories to ruin 1000 good ones.

Anyway, I will check out the other person mentioned above.

Thanks again!

Justin

PS It is likely I just won't do anything to it. If anything, get an LEM one day. :)

There's a lot of information about him at HKPro Forums.  You might want to look there too.

Caveat Emptor.  Ask the guy over on HKPro who had to have six or more rebuilt by HKI after trigger work.

+1

He did a trigger job on a USP I once had. I couldn't tell an OUNCE worth of difference in before he did it & after. Wasted my $$$, IMO.

Then you must be somewhat new to arfcom.

I sent my P30 off to have a trigger job done by Bill.  I requested a quick turnaround because I was moving, and if I remember correctly, he had it back within a week.  I couldn't tell much of a difference with the DA pull, maybe slightly smoother, but the SA was lighter and felt a little better.  If I had to do it all over, I'd buy a LEM.  Barring that, try Gray Guns.  Bill is option 3.

I just installed an AR trigger/ hammer I had Bill do work on.

For $40 it was totally worth it.

It's not a $200 trigger, but an improvement over stock for sure.

I will probably get another one done within the month.

I have had both companies do work on HK's.  I would recommend Gray Guns.
