I have a Full size USP .45 and LOVE it!  Over 6000 rounds though it and only one jam because of the lack of oil on the slide (my fault).

Anyway, I have been looking at the Compact to carry.  My only question/concern is the recoil spring set up.  It seems to be very tight and I know it is a diffrent set up than the full size.  Is the compact just as sturdy and reliable as the full size?  And will the recoil spring need to be replaced more often.

Thanks,

Matt

I'm no expert but this is what I understand.

The recoil spring is supposed to be just as reliable but it does have a shorter life span than the spring in the full size.

The full size is suppose to have a life of 30,000 rounds and the compact is somewhere around 20,000.

Yes the compact is every bit as good as the fullsize. I have both. As misterhemi said, recoil spring will have to be changed a bit sooner, but thats not exactly a big deal.
