I was looking at these in 40 for a backup gun to ware in an ankle holster.  i have no idea the proportions because nobody has one right now near me. I'm looking for input from the owners about how it wears, holds and shoots.

That is primary CCW. And I love it. I carry it on the small of my back. Fits my hands perfectly. If u have larger hands it might be alittle awkward for you.  For me its alittle thick for a ankle gun.
As far as how it shoots; well last time I when shooting with some friends, both of them had a pair of Glock_22s.  And lets just say I made them look bad.

+100 on above post. Mine is 9mm, carry SOB and IMO it is too big for ankle carry.

I just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and I really like it. GREAT shooter, and I picked up an Xgrip for the full size mag.

My P2000 SK is 9mm.  I've been very impressed with its accuracy.  It's a real tack driver.

At this point, I've only got 600 rds. through it –– assorted fmj and jhp ammo.  Zero failures of any sort.

You know I have been toying with the Idea of getting one of these for a BUG, but idk. I like it, but IDK. Maybe I might just get one. But I have a long list of hk's to buy.

Mine in 9MM was nearly equivalent in width, height & length to my srltainless P232.  Which is why I no longer have a P232.  I think unloaded, the HK was lighter too (by feel).

This is my daily CCW and it carries fine in a good holster and belt. I carry at 3:30 - 4:00. I am trying both a Comp-Tac Minotaur and a Crossbreed Supertuck to see which is more comfortable for everyday use.The pistol is very smooth shooting and easily controllable.

I have two...one in 9mm and the other in .357 SIG.  Love them.

A bit bigger than my Glocks...but feel much better.  Was carrying a Glock 26 or 33.

H&K is making awesome pistols.

Good for you.  I think you'll be very pleased.

The P2000 SK is a top of the line pistol.

Local gun shop had one. Got to see how it actually felt in my hand. Will be getting one. Only problem is they want $870 plus tax.

BudsGunshop has them for $811 and free shipping. My local FFL charges $20 for transfer. Guess where I am buying mine?

If the local gun shop were good guys, I'd buy from the gun shop.  $39 savings on a $900 gun where THEY were the ones that had one for you to hold and fall in love with...

But hey, people are different.  I know people that will go to a local motorcycle store, try on the helmets to find one that works, and then spend $200 online to get the same helmet shipped to them instead of paying the extra $10 to help the people who had it in stock and allowed them to "try it".  I think that's kind of a dick move.  I said "kind of".  I get it, but I also don't.

I understand your point and I figured in the final cost. But at $870 plus 8% sales tax that comes out to about $939.60. Buds is $811 with free ship and $20 transfer for a toal of $831.

ETA: I thought more about what you said. Called the shop and said ok I'll take it for $870. He said so you want the used one. Told him I thought that was for new. No he said. New one is $949.99 + 8% tax equals $1030.74. I'll go with Buds and save about $200.

haha OUCH!  At some gun stores, bring them cash and they will waive the sales tax.  Just sayin'

I don't know what my moral - $$ cutoff is for me to say "yeah I'll get that elsewhere".  It's made it easy because I haven't been into a single gun store yet that wasn't run by dicks behind the counter or by a guy who straight up lied to me.  I almost thought I had found a place 4 years ago when I was getting my first pistol.  I wanted a P2000sk, 40 caliber, LEM variant.  A store agreed to transfer one for me because they didn't have one in stock.  I thought he understood that the 9mm variant 3 (SA/DA) he had was NOT the gun I was looking for.  Especially for the $930 price tag.  So I bought an SK off GunBroker for $580 (and it came with an $80 light) and had it shipped to his store.  When he got it, he told me that I was "lucky" that he didn't realize that he had it in his store.  When I went on to explain that he DOESN'T have this gun in his store, he swore that the details didn't matter and that he wouldn't have transferred it if he knew he had one in the glass case.

This FFL crap is for the birds.  The government should be required to do this stuff for $2 at the local police station if they are going to force this crap down our throats.  Forcing me to pay an additional $25-$70 for a transfer is BS.  Just my opinion.

I recently picked up a handgun and transferred to my state and the local FFl dealer did the transfer for $10.  A guy can sure live with that.

iroc409 I like how you copy the old HK ad with your mag.

I've had my p2000sk for about 4 years now and I love it, it was my primary ccw for the longest, until I got an S&W 442.  With the right holster the gun tucks away very well.  You won't be disapponted.  Also I let a buddy shot my p200sk and I was able to get him back into the HK market.
