Im in the market for a P30L V3. Looking for horror stories and the like. Never actually shoot one but i have handle them extensively and the ergos really stand out IMO. Also, any what holster you guys recommend? The gun will likely see her fair share of IPSC and IDPA matches so keep that in mind.

Any defense ammo in particular i should avoid?

Thanks in advance!!!

I've never heard a horror story regarding an HK handgun. Quite the opposite actually. I have the non-L version, and it refuses to jam. I have not tried Wolf ammo yet, and I probably won't, but others have with success.

It's possibly the best production pistol on the planet, IMO.

No and by the way, is there any other advantage other than not having the decoker on the safety lever, and not having an actual safety lever on the V1 vs. the V3.

Im at a crossroads and mi time is running out!!!

Thanks!!

the biggest difference in my opinion is availability... Either one is going to be a good option, just goin to depend on what you can find

I fired the standard slide and loved it (in 40), so figured that the LS would be even better and bought a LS...I would have been plenty happy saving the $50 and just getting the standard slide.

Mine has the LEM and safety levers, so it was an odd duck, but available and less money than others I had seen.

The thing that keeps bugging me is that, is the non thumb safety/decoker P30L (the one that has the decoker on the back) any different from the thumb safety one trigger wise?

Im about to put down a down payment and i want to know for sure.

Thanks guys!!

I have a real zinger of a horror story with my P30.

At round ~4,100 it malfunctioned. For the first time.

It was horrible.

Still in for this question, i would be putting down the first payment later today but want to clear up this first. The gun in question is a non safety DA/SA and i believe it was made in 09' (AK markings on the slide)

Thanks

The gun you are talking about has the V3 trigger system with decocker right? The ones with the thumb safety I think are V1 LEM models. They have different trigger systems for sure. The V3 is a DA/SA and the V1 LEM is a DAO/type with a fairly light pull. I think I got that right. My P30L V3 is probably a day away from getting to me.

Correct, V3 without thumb safety/decocker, decocker on the back. Real nice gun!!!
